The Exceeding Greatness of God's Power
How much power was released at the cross of christ

In the Pauline epistles, its very important that we realize that Paul never for once prayed that God would grant unto the believer "power from on high"
He was not praying for power as many of us "believers" pray today. Why?Its because the believer in Christ has the power. He is not going to have power. He has the power already in him.The Power is in the believer.
However, apart from the fact that the believer in Christ possesses God's power already, Apostle Paul also want the believer to know what made this power available for the believer. He wanted us to know the crux of this Power. I want you to carefully read Ephesians 1:16-23. Apostle Paul careful demystify this exceeding greatness of the power of God.
Ephesians 1:17-23 KJV says,"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM: [18] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may KNOW what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, [19] And what is the EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER TO US-ward (in us) who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
[20] Which he wrought in Christ, WHEN HE RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places ,
[21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come
[22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
[23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all."
Oh, Glory to God.Carefully observe those words i capitalized:
1)Know
2)Exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward
3)When he raised him from the dead.....
What a Prayer!
A Prayer to know. A prayer of awareness. In other words, Apostle Paul was praying that the church would come to know THAT this "exceeding greatness of Gods power" in us now was actually wrought ( Gr-Energeo: displayed, active) when God raised Christ up from the dead. This is the crux: ".....when he raised him up from the dead...." This is Gods work in redemption.
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:17 KJV
"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."
This is the work of salvation. Yes, Christ died. More so, he was actually raised up by God on the third day.
God didn't crucify Christ and neither did Christ crucified himself. Men did [Isaiah 53:3-4]. Christ was crucified by men not God. It was not Gods work to crucify him. Nevertheless, it was Gods work to raise him up. Hallelujah! This alone is the greatest miracle of salvation. Gods work in the salvation of man.
Only if you know how much power God vested in saving man. It was not a joke. It was not easy. It was not just a little task at all . It took God time. God had to sum up all his power and strength to bring man to salvation.
Dear believer, i know you want the power of God in your life. Look at salvation! There is the exceeding greatness of Gods power. When you received Christ at salvation, this exceeding greatness of Gods power fell on you. Its at salvation. The day you received Christ, the day you got born again, This same power came upon you.
All you need is to know. Become aware! Through revelation, become aware! Through diligent study, become aware! Through prayer and fasting, become aware! Through the help of the Holy Ghost, just become aware.
Romans 8:11 KJV
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. This power of God in you is far above all principality and power. Its far far above all power might. Its far above all dominion and every name that is named. "Not only in this world, but also in the world to come".
Glory to God. Just know!
